Adult General English Programme - Summer Season
1 June to 28 August 2009
York is a beautiful place to study during the summer. Our Adult
General English Course is designed for students who wish to
improve their English for personal or professional reasons. We
have qualified and experienced staff, and the school also offers
excellent facilities. During this time, we also offer an increased social programme,
which
enables students to explore the historic city of York and
surrounding countryside.
Groups, Levels and Ages
Students must be aged 16 years +
to join this courseClasses of up to 14 multinational students
Students accepted from elementary to advanced Beginners also welcome,
but please check dates/availability before registering
Students grouped according to their level, following a
diagnostic placement test
Students may start on any Monday and stay for any length of time
(2 weeks minimum during this period)
24 hours tuition each week
Our General English Course combines general language improvement and communications skills work.
The focus is on improving grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation as well as developing the 4 key skills
of speaking, listening, reading and writing.

work on the structures and vocabulary introduced during the morning sessions.

Please note that our teaching weeks in the summer season comprise 24 hours teaching
(not including breaks and lunch
times).
