Cornmill Lodge

The English Language Centre now has a Student Residence as an alternative to Homestay accommodation. This is perfect for the student who would like to have more independence.

Cornmill Lodge was a 4 star Guest House which has been carefully re-designed to offer 7 comfortable bedrooms with ensuite facilities. There is a very large kitchen with shared cooking facilities and a 50-inch digital TV with Sky, a separate laundry room and outside a courtyard and 4 private parking spaces. Flat-screen TV/DVD players in each room with 50 TV channels and 24 radio stations. There is WiFi connection throughout the building. 

Cornmill Lodge is only 15 minutes' walk from the ELC, very close to the city centre.

Within just 5 minutes' walk of Cornmill Lodge there is

• An indoor heated swimming pool
• A bank and ATM machine
• A small supermarket selling all essential groceries as well as hot croissants, bread and baguettes delivered every morning
• A Fish and Chip shop also selling take away Chinese food

Terms and Conditions

  • The Student Residence Cornmill Lodge is available to students age 20 and over.
  • This accommodation is only available in complete weeks.
  • You will be asked to sign an accommodation Licence Agreement before you occupy your room at the Residence, and to abide by the terms and conditions of this Licence.
  • Students in Cornmill Lodge will be asked to pay a Residence Bond of £250, in addition to the room rental, by credit card or bank transfer to complete the booking. This is refundable and is intended to cover the cost of any breakages or other damage to the property.
  • If you take a holiday during your stay you will still be charged the full rate for your period of absence.
  • Payments must be made to the school. For periods of up to 12 weeks, all payments must be made at the time of booking. For periods of 12 weeks or more, you will be invoiced every 12 weeks. No accommodation at Cornmill Lodge will be considered booked until payment has been received.
  • Check-in to Cornmill Lodge is on Sundays only between 14.00 and 17.00. There is an additional charge of £20 for check-in outside these times. Please note we cannot check students in after 20.00 under any circumstances.
  • Check-out is on Saturday morning, by 10.00.
