Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA):
This is THE basic training course for teaching English to non-native speaking adults. If you want to teach English effectively, the CELTA qualification is a must. There are many jobs for English teachers with the CELTA qualification, especially (though not exclusively) overseas. Indeed, the ELC is regularly approached by language schools looking for recently-qualified teachers with the CELTA qualification.

Our CELTA courses are validated by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES). A detailed syllabus authorised by UCLES can be found here.
4-week full-time courses in 2010:

All courses begin on Thursdays. The fee for the full-time course is 1095 GBP, inclusive of the UCLES examination fee.
Course timings: 10.00 to 18.15 Monday to Friday, except for June and July when they are 13.00 to 20.30. We provide students each day for practice teaching, with lessons from 16.15 to 18.15. In June and July, practice lessons are 17.30 to 19.30.
