The FCE exam Preparation Course is designed for students who intend to take their Cambridge First Certificate in English. The next course is linked to the December 7th FCE exam date. The full course lasts for 13 weeks (12 weeks tuition followed by the week of the exam). The next course starts on Monday 13th September 2010.
FCE Exam Preparation Course
The course provides a well-balanced weekly programme of 15 hours General English (see General English A course) plus 9 hours preparation for the FCE examination, in classes usually of no more than 12 students. Our teachers give all students a high degree of personal attention and encourage them to participate fully both in the classroom and with homework assignments. The afternoon FCE specialist lessons focus on:
- Use of English, the grammar section of the FCE exam
- Practical use of English (both spoken and written) in a variety of work related situations as in the test
- FCE type reading sessions
- Speaking task practice, working together with other students who are also aiming at the FCE exam
- Listening exercises, which are linked to the exam tasks
- Full examination practice
A typical day’s timetable could be:
| 09.15–10.45 | Course work with the Course Tutor to cover the essential grammar components |
